## Deriving Rate Laws

### Deriving Rate Laws

Will we have to be able to derive the rate laws for the final or just understand what is going on and how to use it?

My TA said that we should know how to derive the rate laws, and that it was fair game for Professor Lavelle to test us on.

Usually for exams, deriving equations, such as rate laws, is fair test material. Also, it is helpful and a bit easier to know how to use them if you know where they come from and how to derive them.

I don't think that we will have to derive the actual rate laws, but I think that knowing how to do it will be helpful in answering some questions.
