What does it mean for a reaction to be exergonic?

It is similar to exothermic(releases heat) in that exergonic means it is releasing energy.

AN exergonic reaction is one in which energy is released as the reaction proceeds forward.

A reaction is exergonic when it is releasing energy, which would result in a negative delta G since it is losing energy.
