slow step
how can you tell which step in a rxn is the rate-determining step/slow step? i get it by looking at a graph or something, but what if you only have the rxn in front of you?

Re: slow step
If you are given the experimentally determined rate law or something like that, you can find an intermediate step that matches that rate law, making that the slowest step.

Re: slow step
For the slow step the actual reaction that determines which step is the slow step is the intermediate reaction right before the slow step.
