### Rate Order

Are orders of reactants and rate laws in general always whole numbers? Or can there be orders that are fractions?

They can be fractions, but can the rate order pretty much be anything between 0 and 3?

yes it can, but it is very rare for a rate law to be 3.

If it's a fraction how do you go about solving it?

I think it can be solved using experimental data and ratios (method we're using now), except the exponent (n) would be a fraction?
