Gabriel Week 9 Worksheet Question

Postby HaleyWong1A » Sun Mar 10, 2024 8:01 pm

I was wondering how we were able to simplify sqrt(k1/k-1)*(k2) --> k'. What is the concept behind this? Here is a ss of the solution

Hi there, I saw that too...I think you could have left it the way you had it, that is just the abbreviation he used.

Hi,

The general concept was relating the differential rate law from the mechanism to the tabulated data.

The notation here is to denote that the product of all these constants can be simplified into one constant: k'.

It was intended to make it easier to visualize the rate law without three different constants when using the pre-equilibrium approach.

Hope this helps. :-)
