Kinetics Experiment Chart
In the kinetics experiment chart, why do we not solve for a value for the concentration of C? This type of problem can be found in problem 7A.15 in the textbook. Would C not affect the value of the overall order of the reaction?

Re: Kinetics Experiment Chart
We don’t solve for the value of the concentration of C because the concentrations of the reactants, the stoichiometry of the reaction, and the rate law are the pieces of information relevant to determining the concentration of the product and reaction rate.

Adding onto the previous reply, you do technically solve for C. However, once you solve for A and B, you will realize that C literally doesn't affect the rate. I feel like we don't typically solve for C because we are only taught to trimolecular/third-order rate laws. Thus, adding in C would make us work with fourth-order rate laws.
