achieve question 2

Postby 306250289 » Sun Mar 17, 2024 8:53 pm

I used the slope formula for this question and I got my rate b answer as -0.0025 however I still got it wrong even though I calculated correctly. What should I do differently

Hi! Make sure your answer is not negative because the conc of B increases overtime

The answer should be +0.0025. The rate is negative for the reactant A but the answer is positive for the rate of B. The negatives cancels out since in reaction two, the formula to find b would be Rate B= -2 times rate A. You are trying to find rate b and are already found/given rate r and the coefficient of the reaction.
