Initial rates of 1st and 2nd order reaction plots

I wanted to know whether these two statements are true:
1. For 1st order rxn, when you plot initial rate of consumption of A against concentration of A, you get a straight line.
2. For 2nd order rxn, when you plot initial rate of consumption of A against , you get a straight line.

Those two statements are in fact true. The slopes for both of those plots will be the rate constant, k.
