Importance of K

Postby Alexia Joseph 2B » Sun Feb 25, 2018 2:34 am

Why is it important theoretically to know what k is/does? What is its relation in terms to the reaction?

k is the rate constant. It links the reaction rate with the pressures or concentrations of the reactants.

it is important to note that k is for a given reaction at a fixed temperature. so when T increases, k also increases and vice versa.
