For this problem, I am getting the right numbers however they are off by several powers of 10. For part c, why is the value of k = 2.85 x10^12? I found that k was equal to 2.85 when dividing 8.7 by (1.25^5). Then when I tried finding the initial rate from the given concentrations, I got a number that had 1.13 in it but it was many powers of 10 off from the answer in the back of the book. What am I doing wrong on the basis of powers of ten for this problem?

I think you might have converted the initial concentration from mol to mol incorrectly.

I agree. It took me a while to get the correct answer because I kept incorrectly converting from mmol to mol. I'd recommend converting all of the mmols to mols in the beginning and also paying attention to the order with respect to each reactant!

Does anyone know why we convert mmol to mol? Is it absolutely necessary? For instance, in 15.17, we're asked to do similar calculations but everything stays in mmol.

I have the same question. Would the answer be acceptable in mmol? I'm assuming the test would specify right?
