rate constant vs rates

Postby Vanessa Romero-Campos 2B » Mon Mar 05, 2018 6:22 pm

why does increasing the concentration of reactants cause the rate to increase but it doesn't affect the rate constant ?

If the Arrhenius Equation is considered (k = Ae^Ea/RT), the concentration of the reactant doesn't appear and so would not affect the rate constant.

The rate constant is a constant and therefore must stay the same throughout.
