### 15.19c

for 15.19c, the question asks us to find the rate constant. The answer key says that the rate constant is 2.851x10^(12). Can someone explain to me where the 10^(12) comes from? The answer I calculated was just 2.851.

Also the answer for 15.19d is also wack as heck too. The answer key says: 1.13x10^(-2) mmol*L^(-1)*s^(-1).
To my understanding, this answer would not make sense when compared to the other values in the table.

I was confused at first too, and got the same answer as you. I figured that in the solutions manual they converted all the values from mmol to mol, so I did that and got 2.85 x 10^-12. However, in 15.17 they leave the values in mmol and I'm not sure which one they want us to do.

The answer to part D is in mol*L^-1*s^-1 too, if that makes more sense.

The x10^12 is correct if you convert the units from mmol to mol, but they seemed to have made a typo in the textbook since they kept the answer in mmol.

Yeah it looks like they just converted everything to mol, I also got 2.85 for c because I didnt convert to mol

They converted the values to mol from mmol before calculating but I would assume that you wouldn't have to do this unless the question specifies that the answer should be converted since they didn't convert for #17
