The question provides a table of values, with which we can work out the rate = kr[A][B]2[C]2 (overall order of 5). When I calculate kr, I get the answer 2.85 L4*mmol-4*s-1. When I calculate the rate with that k, [A] = 3.01 mmol/L, [B] = 1.00 mmol/L, and [C] = 1.15 mmol/L, I get rate = 11.3 mmol*L-1*s-1. However, the answer provided by the book for kr is 2.85 x 1012 L4*mmol4*s-1. Where did the 1012 come from? How come the units don't work out? The book then says the rate = 1.13 x 10-2 mmol*L-1*s-1. What did I do wrong in my calculation?

The book converts mmol to mol and work with these units throughout the entire problem. If you convert to mol from the beginning and work with these values throughout, you should get the same answer.

Make sure to convert from mmol to mol before getting the final answer in mmol.
