Differential Rate Law

Postby samanthaywu » Sun Mar 14, 2021 8:41 am

Is the method of initial rates the one that gives us the differential rate law? (As opposed to the integrated rate law)

yes, we use the method of initial rates to determine a differential rate law of the reaction and we can integrate from there to get an integrated rate law.

Yes, the method of initial rates helps us determine the order of each reactant. From there, you can integrate with respect to each reactant to get an integrated rate law.

Yes, the initial rates can be used to find the differential rate law, and then you can use that to integrate again to get the integrated rate law. Hope that helps!
