Achieve Question 8

Postby morgan 1I » Thu Mar 14, 2024 12:50 am

How come the hint says to use the equation: [A]t=−kt+[A]0, and not ln[A]t=−kt+ln[A]0?

It is because the question states that it is a zero order reaction rather than first order.

Hi, since the reaction is a zero-order reaction we have to use the equation "[A]t=-kt+[A]0".For this problem, since we are solving for t we can rearrange the equation to: "t= [A]0-[A]t/k".
