Is there a possibility that there will be graphs given or we will have to draw graphs in accordance to the order of the reaction? Thanks!

We won't be required to draw graphs but be able to interpret them.

It's unlikely we'll have to draw graphs as data points would be difficult to interpret for T.A's and take too much time, however being able to understand what each graph means is important for the final.

You might have to label the axes of the graphs and the slope if given the reaction order.

I assume we'd have to be able to correctly interpret general trends in a graph, but I don't really think we'd have to draw accurate graphs on our own; at the most there will likely be a template provided.

I think the most important thing pertaining to graphs is that you understand the relationship between the variables. For example, the graph of a 0 order reaction is a linear relationship between reactant concentration and time, whereas the graph of a 1st order reaction is a linear relationship between ln(reactant concentration) and time.

For graphs, we should just know the relationship between what order the reaction is with what goes on the x axis, as well as the direction of the slope on the graph and whether k is positive or negative.

since none of the assigned homework problems had us drawing graphs ourselves and finding slopes, I doubt we will be expected to on a test.

We may not have to draw the graphs, but we will probably need to know what graphs of first order, second order, and zeroth order reactions look like vs time.

I don't think we would be, since none of the homework problems I've looked over have a drawing aspect in them. However I think it would be wise to understand what zeroth/first/second order graphs look like and be able to determine from a reaction which graph would suit it best.

Also it might be a good idea to memorize the y-axis for various orders of reactions (zeroth [A], first ln[A], second 1/[A])
