Half life of zero order runs

Why is it when you plot the half-life against [A] for a reaction that is zero order, that the plot is linear?
Also, why is the initial rate of a 1st order rxn vs [A] linear?

For a zero order reaction, the rate is equal to k, so it is independent from [A]. For this reason, why we plot [A] over time, the graph is linear with a slop of negative k.

The concentration of A over time changes at a constant rate, k. K is not affected by anything as time goes on, which is why it's a straight line.

Plot is linear because reaction rate is constant so linear relationship.
