Half life- zero order

Does anyone understand why the half life concentration in zero order reactions is dependent of the reaction concentration, while first order reactions are independent of the reaction concentration. I understand there is an [A] in the half life reaction for zero order reactions, but why is it need conceptually (beyond the [A] being included in the equation)

If a reaction is zero-order, it means that the rate is unaffected by the concentration of the reactant. Therefore, since rate determines half-life, if the reaction is zero-oder, that reactant has no effect on the half-life value.
