Rate Law

For the final, do we need to know how to derive the first order reaction rate law or just how to identify and use it?

The outline says we should know how to derive the rate laws so it is possible it may appear.

lyndon said that we probably wouldn't have to know how to derive equations, but if it's on the syllabus it may appear on the test

I don't think he would test us on it, but he probably wants us to have a vague idea of how to do it.

The syllabus says you need to know how to do so but it isn't very likely that it will actually be asked on the final.
