The units are usually 1/(M*s).

The units for the rate constant of a second order reaction would be 1/(Ms) or (Ms)^-1. Hope this helps!

Hi, the units for a second-order reaction is 1/s*M. This is because Rate has units of (M*s) and the rate=k[X]^2. So M/s=kM^2, and to find the rate constant (k) we arrange units to k=M/s*M^2 which is the same as 1/s*M.
