Reaction orders

What's the difference between a first and second reaction order, and how do we determine which reaction order a reaction is?

A first order reaction is a reaction based solely on one reactant with order of one, but a second order reaction is either two reactant each with order of one or one reactant with an order of two. Order of a reaction is just the relationship between the rate and the concentration of the reactant. It is calculate utilizing a chart similar to that in the notes.

A first order reaction means that when the reactant increases the product increases by the same factor and a second order means that, depending on the way in which it is a second order reaction, an increase in the reactant means an increase in the rate by the factor squared or an increase in the two different reactants results in an increase of the rate

A first-order reaction means that increasing the concentration of the reactant by a certain factor will increase the rate of the reaction by the same factor.
A second-order reaction means that increasing the concentration of the reactant by a certain factor will increase the rate of the reaction by squaring the factor.
Usually, the order of the reaction can be found by using a table of experimental data.
