if you are looking at a graph, how can you tell if it is a first or second order reaction?

If 1/concentration vs time is a straight line, then the reaction is second order. Otherwise, if the ln[conc] vs time is linear, the reaction is 1st order.

Also for second order reactions, the straight line graph will have a positive slope, while first order will have a negative slope.
