what is work?

Postby 706212653 » Tue Oct 24, 2023 2:40 pm

Hi, I'm a little confused about what work is and how to use it. I've seen it used with energy but I'm not sure what it represents. Can someone explain? Also, what equations with work would be helpful to know for the midterm?

I think your talking about the work function which is the amount of energy needed to excite an electron to the point that it is ejected from a surface

The equations that would be helpful to know would be E=hv-work which equals the kinetic energy, and is also equal to 0.5mv^2. However the equations that combine to make this true are both provided on the constants and equations worksheet.
