Alright so we are referring to "An excited hydrogen atom emits light with a frequency of 1.14x10^14 Hz to reach the energy level for which n = 4. In what principle quantum level did the electron begin?" If yes, then I can explain how to do the question. So first we know that the v(frequency)=1.14x10^14Hz and that Rydbergs equation gives us v=R(1/(n-final)^2 - 1/(n-initial)^2). And we know that n=4 is the final energy level. Plugging in for known numbers and constants, we achieve 1.14x10^14 Hz = 3.28984x10^15Hz(1/16-1/(n-initial)). After doing some algebra and pure calculator work, we eventuall get the value of the initial n or energy level. (6)
