The h is Planck's constant, which is equal to 6.63 x 10^-34

Also, it is important and useful to know that 'E' will be in joules since that is the standard measurement of energy and is taken from Planck's constant.

the equation shows that the energy per photon is proportional to frequency. As frequency increases, so does the energy per photon. Planck's constant, h, is the proportionality constant that equates v to E.

The variable h in this equation, as my classmates have said, is Planck's constant and it's equal to 6.626*10^(-34). It has units of [J*s] which can also be converted to [kg*m^(2)*s^(-1)]. It will be given to us on exams.

In chemistry, h is typically used to denote Planck's constant. It is a very small value equivalent to 6.626 times 10 to the -34 th power m^2 kg/s.
