Homework Problem 1A.15

In the ultraviolet spectrum of atomic hydrogen, a line is observed at 102.6 nm. Determine the values of n for the initial and final energy levels of the electron during the emission of energy that leads to this spectral line.

I'm not sure where to begin with this question and what it is referring to when it says a spectral line. If you guys could help that would be great.

Since the emission is ultraviolet, the transition is in the Lyman Series, n2=1. Convert the 102.6 nm into energy and then plug it into the rydberg formula to solve for n1.
