Like everyone stated before you would use both the equations C=λv and E=hv. It’s important to note that the equation with speed of light is only applicable to problems dealing with light. You can then reconfigure the equations to solve for the variable you are looking for.
The method you use to calculate the energy of a photon depends on what the problem gives you. The equation for the energy of a photon E (energy of photon) = h (planck constant) * v (frequency). can be substituted into the previous equation if they give you values other than frequency.
