Energy of photon

When it comes to energy of a photon, there is a specific equation to calculate it right??

When would we use E=ch/wavelength instead of E=hv, vice versa?

You substitute for v in E=hv to get E=hc/λ

Use the light equation c = vλ, solve for v to get v = c/λ, and substitute back into E=hv for v

Depending on the specific variables that you have you can use either the equation:
E= hv
or
E = hc/ lambda

The second equation is just a combination of the first equation and lambda = c/v.

E=hv or you can get E=hc/λ from combine C=λv and E=hv.

Like everyone stated before you would use both the equations C=λv and E=hv. It’s important to note that the equation with speed of light is only applicable to problems dealing with light. You can then reconfigure the equations to solve for the variable you are looking for.

The method you use to calculate the energy of a photon depends on what the problem gives you. The equation for the energy of a photon E (energy of photon) = h (planck constant) * v (frequency). can be substituted into the previous equation if they give you values other than frequency.

You can use E=hv, or combine this with lamba=c/v to get E=hc/lambda

Yes. In order to calculate the energy of a photon you use the equation E=hv.
E=energy of a photon in Joules
h=Planck's constant (6.626*10^-34 J*s)
v=frequency of wave in Hz
