Planack's constant
Dr. Lavelle mentioned Planack's constant is h=6.63x10^-34 J.s in lecture. What is Planack's constant used for or what is it a constant for?

Re: Planack's constant
I believe that Planck's constant is used when calculating the energy of a photon. It is represented by the variable h in the equation E=hv.
Re: Planack's constant
Placnk's constant is used to find the energy of a photon given its frequency or wavelength.
These 2 equations are very handy:
Energy of photon = planck's constant (h) * frequency
Energy of photon = planck's constant (h) * (speed of light (c) / wavelength)
These 2 equations are very handy:
Energy of photon = planck's constant (h) * frequency
Energy of photon = planck's constant (h) * (speed of light (c) / wavelength)
Re: Planack's constant
Planck's Constant is used in the following equations:
E=hv (Energy = h * frequency)
E = (-hR)/n^2 (Energy = (-hR)/(energy level)^2
E=hv (Energy = h * frequency)
E = (-hR)/n^2 (Energy = (-hR)/(energy level)^2
Re: Planack's constant
it is used to find E=hv. It can be used with c=lv to calculate and find values
h is planck's constant
h is planck's constant

Re: Planack's constant
The Planck's constant is used in the Einstein equation E=hv, where h is the Planck's constant and v is the frequency of the light. With the constant, we can calculate the energy per photon.
Re: Planack's constant
Plancks constant is essentially only used in Einstein's equation E=hv to find the energy of a photon with a given frequency.

Re: Planack's constant
Planack's constant can be used to help find the energy of a photon if you are using the equation E=hv, where E is energy, h is planack's constant, and v is the frequency.
