Planck's Constant

The energy of light is related to its frequency, but what is the relationship between Planck's Constant to frequency and energy? How does it affect the two?

Planck's Constant is defined as the quantum of action and shown to be a constant of proportionality between energy and the frequency in one photon according to Einstein.

It's also helpful to think of Planck's constant in terms of a graph. If you were to plot the equation for energy of a photon, E=hv, E would be on the y-axis and frequency on the x-axis. In one experiment, measure the energy of light and in another measure the frequency. This would result in a linear relationship, as energy and frequency are directly proportional. The slope of this graph would reveal the constant of proportionality, or Planck's constant.

The relationship is displayed in E(energy)=h(Planck's constant)v(frequency). Planck's constant is the constant of proportionality which shows the direct relationship between energy and frequency. The higher the frequency, the higher the energy output, and vice versa. The Planck's constant doesn't really have too much if an effect in the overall shift of the equation regarding the energy components and the frequency component.
