### Atomic Spectra

Write the equation that allows one to calculate the electronic energy levels for the hydrogen atom. Do the calculated energies compare favorably with empirical observation (spectroscopic results)?

I know the equation is E=-hR/n^2, however, I am confused on what the second part of the question is asking.

### Re: Atomic Spectra

Maybe the second question is asking if the calculated energies can be experimentally detected?

### Re: Atomic Spectra

The question may be similar to chemical yield questions asking how the theoretical yield compares to the actual yield. In this case, the question may be asking to compare spectroscopic results (similar to the theoretical yield or what the supposed results are) to what is actually calculated in the equation (similar to the actual yield).
