Sapling HW #4

I need help solving this problem:

A liquid is exposed to infrared radiation with a wavelength of 4.84×10−4 cm. Assume that all the radiation is absorbed and converted to heat. How many photons are required for the liquid to absorb 25.34 J of heat?

Calculate the energy per photon using E=hc/lambda (make sure you convert the cm into meters for the wavelength).

25.34 J represents the total energy absorbed by ALL the photons so divide 25.34 by the E value you calculated above to get the number of photons.

This is something that was always kind of confusing to me, but what helped me was that the E=hv equation is the energy of a single photon. So to find the total amount of photons, you would take the given energy and divide it by the energy of a single photon.
