instantaneous rates

Postby Angelina Tran 2F » Sun Mar 17, 2024 9:27 pm

how can you tell what the instantaneous rate is by looking at a tangent to the graph of concentration versus time?

The slope at the tangent location, would be the like that is intersects an instantaneous point. Finding the slope of this line means your able to find the rate of concentration over time.

The instantaneous rate is the rate of change of [R] or [P] at a specific time point. We find the instantaneous rate by looking at the slop of the tangent line at that particular time point. The slope of the tangent line is the change in concentration at that specific time point.
