Identifying Intermediates and Transition States

Hi everyone! How do we experimentally identify intermediates and transition states in complex reaction mechanisms? Thank you!

Ill answer the first part, intermediates are found in elementary reactions by identifying which products in the first reaction are also in the reactants of the next reaction which is usually the slow step

A+B>C+D
E+C>F+G

Here C would be the intermediate
