Reaction Mechanisms

Postby 806255289 » Sun Mar 17, 2024 11:39 pm

Hi can someone explain why we use the pre-equilibrium approach instead of the steady-state reaction approach? Thanks!

We use the pre equilibrium approach because we want to look at reactions that are not in the steady rate condition. In the pre equilibrium approach you pay attention to the formation of the intermediate molecules which is helpful for reaction that have fast steps. It is also more accurate.
