Units of rate constant k

Postby Blake_Panter_3D » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:09 pm

What are the units of the rate constant k for 0 order, 1st order and 2nd order? are they always going to be the same for each?

For 0th order: k=M (which is mol/L)/s

For the 1st order: k=s^-1 (or 1/s)

And for the 2nd order: k=M (again mol/L)^-1 x s^-1

Zero order: mol/s
First Order: s^-1
Second Order: L * mol^-1 * s^-1
Third Order: L^2 * mol ^-2 * s^-1
