Elementary Reactions

Postby RyanTran2F » Mon Mar 05, 2018 4:14 pm

Are we given the elementary reactions or will we have to figure out all the components on our own? Thanks :)

It depends. I think sometimes we will need to figure out the components on our own.

Yeah I also think it depends on the situation. Sometimes we will be given elementary steps and asked to analyze them, find the intermediates, overall reaction, and rate law. Other times, I think we could propose elementary reactions for an overall reaction, however, there would never be one correct answer for this type of question, rather multiple logical mechanisms.
