### Pre-Equilibrium

When using the pre-equilibrium approach, we are given the steps involved in the reaction right?

I think so. I think Dr.Lavelle said that coming up with the actual steps in the mechanisms is really complicated/advanced, so we would be given it.

Yup, pretty sure Vivian is correct! Plus, we would need to be told which step is the slow step to use the pre-equilibrium approach in the first place

Is the process the same for when you're looking for the rate of decomposition versus the rate of formation?

I think the processes are the same for both rate of formation and rate of decomposition. Just make sure that the equilibrium constant is correct.
