Net rate of formation of products

Postby Yea Eun Lee 1H » Wed Mar 14, 2018 3:07 am

For the net rate of formation of products, is it rate of formation - rate of consumption or rate of consumption - rate of formation (or does this even matter at all?)

In other words, the net rate of formation of a species is its forward rate of formation plus its reverse rate of formation.

The net rate of formation is the rate of the slow step without any intermediates; so you would have to use k/k' to replace it and so on. Your final step should never have intermediates in it.
