Pseudo Equilibrium Constant

Postby Leah Savage 2F » Sat Mar 17, 2018 9:49 pm

What is the pseudo equilibrium constant? How is it found and how is it different from the normal equilibrium constant?

The pseudo equilibrium constant is the equilibrium constant of the transition state of a reaction, found in the reaction mechanism, whereas, a normal equilibrium constant is the equilibrium constant of the overall reaction. It is found by looking at the transition state reaction of a mechanism and using K=[products]/[reactants].
