Value of “k” in Kinetics

What does a value of k > 1 or k < 1 imply in kinetics? We made it very clear in thermodynamics but I do not fully understand its implications in kinetics.

if it is more than one, the forward rate is faster, and less than one the reverse rate is faster

If k is greater than 1, the products would be favored, while if k is less than 1, the reactants would be favored. That is because k is products/reactants.

In kinetics, k usually refers to rate constant k. I'm pretty sure that k should always be positive or >1 because rates of reactions are always positive values. This includes rates that occur in the reverse direction.

k is products over reactants, so if k > 1, then the products are favored and the forward rate is faster; however, if k < 1, then the reactants are favored and the reverse rate is faster.

The equilibrium constant K is equal to k/k'. Thus if K is greater than 1, it means that k' (the rate of the reverse reaction) is very small or slow. This makes sense since when K is greater than one, the products are favored in the reaction, and vice versa.
