I think frequency factor accounts for the frequency in which two compounds (reactants) will collide with each other at the correct orientation. As mentioned, in class when the frequency factor increases, k will also increase.

I believe it is the frequency of collisions between two molecules that are at the correct orientation. If they collide with an incorrect orientation, no reaction will occur.

Since Dr. Llavelle went over this at the end of the lecture I did not get great notes on it, but what I did get was that 'When they collide, it is Frequency Factor A'. So I assume that Frequency A is in reference to the rate at which the molecules collide.
According to another user I found on Chemistry Community the book it says "A is a measure of the rate at which molecules collide"

from what was said in lecture frequency factor has to do with reactants having the correct orientation when they collide
