Re: pseudo rate law
Psuedo rate law means one that has been modified to fit a certain order that was not already in its desired order, to begin with. For example, a pseudo-first-order reaction is one that was not originally first order, but the concentration of the reactants is altered in order to make it a first-order reaction. Then, using the new and adjusted concentrations to determine the rate law is the pseudo rate law.

Re: pseudo rate law
Many reactions actually have many reactants, but determining the order of each together is very hard and complex, so we make the concentration of one reactant very small while the others very large (concentrations essentially constant) so that the reaction rate depends only on the small concentration R. For example, we may make the concentration of reactant A very small, and rate = k'[A]^N, in which if N = 1, then it is called PSEUDO-first-order rate law.
