Achieve Question 18

Postby April_Tello_2H » Sun Mar 17, 2024 10:18 pm

Hello,

This question has a section where we must identify what species is an intermediate. I have no clue what an intermediate is or what its supposed to be, what are we looking for in this case ? What factors do I pay attention to when looking for an intermediate and what is its definition ?

hi an intermediate is a product that is produced and consumed so it is not a part of the overall reaction.

Hi as explained, the intermediate is a value that is produced by a reaction and then used in a later reaction, cancelling itself out so that it's not included in the balanced reaction. This is the opposite of a catalyst which is used as a reactant and then later in the products.
