Temp. Dependence in Enzymatic Reactions

Postby laurence14b2f » Sun Mar 17, 2024 11:37 pm

Hi all! How does the Arrhenius equation help us understand the temperature dependence of reaction rates in biological systems, such as enzyme-catalyzed reactions? Thank you!!

Hi!! It shows us how catalyzed or uncatalyzed reactions depend on temperature. The rate of catalyzed reactions does not rely as much on temperature as that of a catalyzed reaction and this is proven through the use of the Arrhenius equation.

the Arrhenius equation helps us understand the temperature dependence of reaction rates in biological systems, such as enzyme-catalyzed reactions, by elucidating the relationship between temperature, activation energy, and reaction kinetics. This knowledge is essential for understanding the dynamics of biological processes and their responses to changes in environmental conditions.
