Special Catalysts & Reactions

Postby Jasmine_Brownfield_3E » Sun Mar 05, 2017 9:58 pm

Are there any known reactions for which a certain catalyst completely removes a pre-existing activation energy barrier?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that all reactions require a minimum amount of energy, even if it is extremely small.

I don't know any, but I think it is relative to the how much energy is needed for the reaction (if it is endothermic).

I think we only need to know that Catalyst speed up the reaction by lowering the activation energy, so that more reactant has the energy to overcome the barrier and become the product.

No, you still need energy to get the catalyst to interact with the reagents so there will always be an energy barrier.
