Slope of Arrhenius Plot
Why is the slope equal to -activation energy/R? How does that make sense with respect to the plot?

Re: Slope of Arrhenius Plot
The Arrhenius equation: ln k = -Ea/RT + ln A
Plot: ln k vs 1/T
Therefore, slope = -Ea/R
Plot: ln k vs 1/T
Therefore, slope = -Ea/R

Yes, the slope will always be negative because activation energy is always a positive value.
I mentioned this in class a couple of times: activation energies and rate constants are always positive values
