### Arrhenius Equation.

How would one know in which case to use the Arrhenius equation?

You use this equation when you either have activation energy or need to find it.

The Arrhenius equation would be used in any circumstance in which you are required to find the rate of a reaction from its activation energy and frequency factor. It can also be used to compare the rate of a reaction at different temperatures with the equation ln(k2/k1)=(Ea/R)*(1/T1-1/T2)

The Arrhenius equation can be used to determine the effect of a change of temperature on the rate constant, and thus on the rate of the reaction. The equation being k=Ae^-(Ea/RT)

Basically, you will use the equation to solve for the rate, temperature, or activation energy. Also, you may use the equation to compare the reaction under different temperature. When using Arrhenius equation, typically all but one conditions would be given.
