A in the Arrhenius Equation

A in the Arrhenius Equation
What exactly is A in the Arrhenius equation? From the lecture, I know that it is the "frequency or pre-exponential factor" and it has something to do with particles colliding in the correct orientation, but what does this actually mean?

Some collisions occur with wrong orientations, so this tells how many occur in the correct orientation for the reaction to occur.

Note that the A constant is a unique value for each chemical reaction, like the k constant.

Since molecules need to collide at the correct orientation in order to react, orientation must be accounted for in the Arrhenius equation. This dependence on orientation leads to less molecules reacting than if we only accounted for collisions based on kinetic energy.

How would you calculate the value of A to put in the Arrhenius equation? Would it need to be given to you?

"A" accounts for how often molecules collide in the proper orientation for the reaction to occur.

A is essentially the frequency of collisions in the proper orientation and it is unique.

A is the fraction of molecular collisions that occur at the proper angle for a reaction to occur.
