What is the difference between activation energy and free energy of activation?

Activation energy is the minimum amount of energy needed for the reaction to proceed.
Free energy is the difference in energy between reactants and products. Free energy is calculated as products minus reactants, so if the sign of the free energy is negative it is a spontaneous reaction, and if the sign of the free energy is positive it is not a spontaneous reaction.

Yes, free energy of activation refers to Gibbs free energy.
